Manufacturing

Quote requests that land in Salesforce, not an inbox

Overview

A manufacturing distributor came to us with a website that could take an order enquiry but had no real connection to the sales process behind it. Quote requests arrived, but from there everything happened by hand.

The challenge

Every quote request from the site landed in a shared inbox rather than a tracked record. There was no consistent way to see who had picked up a request, whether it had been quoted yet, or which rep it belonged to — the kind of gap that gets worse, not better, as request volume grows.

The solution

We rebuilt the distributor’s site in WordPress and mapped its quote forms directly to Salesforce, so each submission creates an opportunity record rather than an email. Routing rules assign each quote to the right person automatically, based on the request itself, instead of relying on someone to notice and reassign it manually.

Services involved

  • WordPress (site rebuild and quote form)
  • Salesforce (opportunity records and routing rules)
  • Web development (the integration connecting the two)

Outcome

Quote response time cut from days to hours. Requests now land as tracked, owned records the moment they’re submitted, instead of waiting in an inbox for someone to notice them.
